Knowledge Work

I can't overestimate how critical I see our roles as writers and human beings playing in the future of our civilization. Thanks to Clay Spinuzzi's blog, http://babbage2.cwrl.utexas.edu/~spinuzzi/spinuzzi_drupal/?q=blog/2 I recently discovered the work of John Law, a sociologist who studies the impact of science and technology on our culture. In a great meditation, Law talks about the importance of understanding difference and diversity in today's complex society, and talks about the fact that we are all creatures "Of pluralism. Of different logics and necessities." He gives us a picture of jsut how adaptible the knowledge worker needs to be. Here is the site: http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/sociology/papers/Law-Manager-and-his-Powers.pdf. Enjoy!
